Aside from this article – it’s hard to blame Congress as a whole for the Fiscal Cliff mess. It seems as though it’s the leadership’s fault. When the bill ultimately was put to a vote, it passed just fine. What kept previous bills from passing is that the Speaker and other leaders wouldn’t put it up for a vote because they individually disagreed with it.
I’m not advocating for any side in the fight in this case, but it seems like a lot of power concentrated in a few people’s hands.
