Nathan Barry reflects on his success in the past year, and realizes that his self employed income needs to become sustainable:
I could just start a new web app and work on it quietly for a year before launching, but where is the fun in that? Writing and launching Designing Web Applications in only three months taught me that if I compress the deadlines I can meet a goal much more quickly. So here is the challenge:
Within six months build a web application to $5,000 in recurring revenue each month.
That’s a great goal, and one that I’m excited to follow. The most dangerous combination these days is someone who can both build and market new tools, an it’s why you need to learn to program. The freedom that comes from knowing how to build your own ideas, and find out if their doable or not is incredibly liberating and can lead to stretch goals like Nathan’s.
