Zach Holman of github who did a great article on slide design a few months back just did a nice dive on non-conventional advice about public speaking.
I’d agree with it all, but especially the point on after the talk. Your talk should never end at the talk. Your slides should already be posted, and at the very least, some links to relevant content should be linked.
I try to write my post before I speak1, and queue it up for about 15min before the talk begins. That way I already have the URL and drop it into my closing slide along with my contact info.
